Darius Acuff Jr. ‘pretty darn high’ on tanking NBA team’s draft board, per report

Darius Acuff Jr. isn’t focused on the 2026 NBA Draft right now.
The Arkansas Razorbacks star is focused on 1-seed Arizona as he prepares to lead his 4-seed Hogs into San Jose on Thursday night for a Sweet 16 showdown.
But the NBA Draft is approaching in 3 short months. While college hoopers chase a national title, NBA scouts are doing their due diligence on all the top prospects.
The Sacramento Kings are fully tanking away their remaining games in the hopes of getting a top-4 pick in a draft that many expect will feature BYU’s AJ Dybantsa, Kansas’s Darryn Peterson, Duke’s Cam Boozer and North Carolina’s Caleb Wilson as the top 4 draftees, in some order.
But if the Kings were to fall outside of that top 4? Sacramento radio host Matt George says the Kings really like what they’ve seen from the Arkansas guard:
“I have no idea where he sits on the Sacramento Kings’ board. I have no idea where he sits on any team’s board,” George says in the above clip. “But I did some digging, asked some questions, and got a pretty definitive response. The Sacramento Kings are really big fans of Darius Acuff.”
George added that the Kings are also very big fans of Dybantsa.
“But if the Sacramento Kings were to end up outside of that top-4 window — as of right now, they have the best odds at the 4th overall pick, sitting in that 4th spot, 12.5% chance at the No. 1 pick overall, 48% chance at top 4 overall, could fall as low as 8 — if they were to fall to that 5, 6, 7 range, I’m told they’re very, very keen on the idea of Darius Acuff here in Sacramento. He’s got a lot of supporters within the Kings’ front office. … What I can’t tell you is, well, do they prefer him over Kingston Flemings? …
“I can tell you what I’ve been told, and that’s that Darius Acuff has some fans in the Kings’ organization and is, from what I understand, pretty darn high on their draft board.”
Will Acuff win a national title at Arkansas before he leaves for the pro ranks? Will his Hogs even get past Arizona this week? Kalshi gives Arkansas a 24% chance of winning, as things stand now:
