Jones is one of the most highly-coveted transfers on the market so far this cycle. He averaged more than 20 points per game last season with FIU — something that’s rare across all levels of Division 1 college basketball.
He also has the size and skillset to by a physical presence in a league like the SEC. Jones is listed at 6-foot-4 and grabbed 3.8 rebounds per game last season for FIU.
Lastly, Jones is an excellent shooter. He made 37.1% of his 3-point attempts last season and projects to be a solid floor spacer at the high-major level as well.
Auburn, Alabama and LSU are all expected to be aggressive in the portal this offseason.
Jones has 2 years of eligibility remaining. Here are some highlights from his sophomore season:
Sophomore Denver Jones is entering the transfer portal. The 6’4 Guard had a great season where he averaged 20/4/2 and 2 steals a game. Jones was also efficient shooting 48% from the field and 37% from three on 6 attempts a game. Jones is a great scorer and is very underrated. pic.twitter.com/KLhvF6ZHcw
