Detroit Mercy’s men’s basketball program won its first game of the season on Wednesday night.

The Titans defeated IUPUI 81-66 on their home floor, snapping a 27-game losing streak dating back to last season. Fans in attendance were obviously thrilled to have the weight of that drought off their backs — but one fan took it to another level.

After the final buzzer, a single fan made their way onto the floor for a solo court-storming.

Here’s video of the moment:

It’s been an unusually tough season for Detroit Mercy, who typically has a much more competitive program. The Titans won at least 9 conference games in each of their previous 3 campaigns. This season, they are now 1-15 in Horizon League play.

This win did ensure Detroit Mercy will avoid the embarrassment of being the last Division 1 program to win a game this season. Mississippi Valley State is currently 0-24 and is now the lone winless Division I team in the nation for 2023-24.
