Alabama takes on Michigan on Friday for a seat in the Elite Eight. ESPN Analytics is heavily favoring one team to come out victorious.

The Tide have been on a tear in this year’s NCAA Tournament. After taking down 13-seeded Hofstra 90-70, the Tide matched up with the Red Raiders of Texas Tech in a second-round matchup. The Tide dominated, winning by 25, with their leading scorer, Labaron Philon Jr., shooting 2-of-12. Latrell Wrightsell stepped up in Philon’s place, leading the team with 24 points.

Alabama will need Philon to be his usual self if they want to take down 1-seeded Michigan.

Michigan has dominated in the tournament so far as well. Winning its first two games by an average score of 22, the Wolverines will be looking to have that same success against the Tide. Yaxel Lendenborg led the way for the Wolverines in their 95-72 victory over 9-seed Saint Louis with 25 points and 6 rebounds.

The Wolverines’ size in the front court could be trouble for a Tide team that tends to struggle when playing against size. ESPN Analytics seems to agree, as it believes the Wolverines have a 72.6% chance of moving on to the Elite Eight on Friday night, giving the Tide just a 27.4% chance of coming out victorious.

Tip-off between Alabama and Michigan is set for 7:35 p.m. on Friday, March 27.
