ESPN Analytics believes that Bucky McMillan’s Texas A&M team is a significant underdog in the Aggies Round of 32 matchup against a Houston team that is looked at as a legitimate Final Four contender.

This is McMillan’s first year as the head coach in College Station, and things have went well for the Aggies. They finished the regular season with a record of 21-11 entering the NCAA Tournament, and was a No. 10 seed heading into the first round game against St. Mary’s.

ESPN Analytics suggests that the Aggies don’t have much of a chance in this game though against Houston, as they are being given only an 18.7% chance to beat the Cougars, according to the model. The matchup will be on Saturday on TNT, with tipoff currently scheduled for 6:10 p.m. ET

The Aggies put together one of their best defensive performances on the season, as they knocked off the Gaels 63-50. On the season, the Gaels averaged 78.2 points. They also did a great job of limiting the turnovers, as they averaged 10.8 on the season.

On Thursday, they were able to only get to 50 while turning the ball over 18 times against the ‘Bucky Ball’ defense.

While that was a great performance, the matchup Saturday is a different level. The Cougars are one of the best defensive teams in the country, and have future NBA lottery pick guard Kingston Flemings running the show.
