Many SEC teams will begin conference play on Wednesday, Dec. 28, with that night set to feature several big-time matchups.
Now teams get into the meat of their schedules, where they’ll try their best to improve their NCAA Tournament résumés.
On Tuesday, ESPN’s Joe Lunardi released his latest bracketology and, as you can see below, he had 7 SEC teams in the field of 68. Tennessee and Alabama lead the way for the conference as No. 2 seeds:
- Tennessee — No. 2 seed (East)
- Alabama — No. 2 seed (Midwest)
- Arkansas — No. 3 seed (South)
- Kentucky — No. 5 seed (West)
- Auburn — No. 6 seed (West)
- Mississippi State — No. 7 seed (South)
- Mizzou — No. 9 seed (South)
There will be plenty of chances for each SEC team to pick up quality wins over the next few weeks. Which squads will thrive and which will stumble? We’ll find out starting Wednesday night!
