Florida at Kentucky: Best bet for important regular-season finale

SEC regular-season champ Florida heads to Kentucky today trying to complete a season series sweep in the regular-season finale. Tip-off is set for 4 pm, ET (ESPN) at Rupp Arena, where the Wildcats will celebrate Senior Day.
No. 5 Florida (24-6, 15-2) has won 10 in a row and continues to add to its case to be a No. 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament. Part of that streak included a 92-83 victory over Kentucky on Feb. 14.
Kentucky (19-11, 10-7 SEC) is fighting for postseason positioning.
Florida’s sensation Alex Condon has been playing at an All-American level, recently dropping 26 points on Mississippi State, while the status of leading scorer Thomas Haugh (ankle) remains a key watching point after he sat out the Gators’ blowout win over Miss State.
Kentucky will celebrate senior Otega Oweh, the transfer star who has been the heartbeat of this Wildcats team.
We break down the key metrics and trends and recommend the best bets for Florida at Kentucky today.
Florida vs Kentucky Odds
The board shows Florida as a 6.5-point favorite, meaning the Gators must win by at least 7 points to cover the number. The total has climbed to 159.5, signaling expectations for a fast-paced shootout between two of the SEC’s most capable offenses.
The prediction site Kalshi also offers markets for this game. At Kalshi, you can purchase Florida to win contracts for $0.75 per, which equates to -300 odds. If you support Kentucky, there’s a market as well. Kentucky to win contracts are trading for $0.30 per, which equates to +233, which offers more value than consensus sportsbooks.
Understanding the Moneyline: For those looking to place a wager on the outright winner, the moneyline offers a straightforward path. The implied probability—stripping away the vigorish—gives Florida a roughly 70.1% chance to win, compared to 29.9% for Kentucky.
Here is what a standard $5 wager would look like for a beginner:
- Betting on Kentucky (+220): A bold bet on the home underdog would return a $11.00 profit if Oweh and company pull off the upset.
- Betting on Florida (-275): Backing the favorite yields a smaller return; a $5 ticket would net a $1.82 profit, requiring a larger stake to see significant gains.
At Kalshi, purchasing $5 worth of Kentucky contracts ($0.30 per, which equates to +233) would produce a $12 profit if the Wildcats win. That same $5 investment in Florida contracts ($0.75 per, which equates to -300 odds) would produce a $2 profit if the Gators win.
Kentucky vs Florida Tale of the Tape
Florida’s +16.3 scoring margin is the standout metric here. The Gators are 8-4 record against Top 50 teams — including their previous win over Kentucky. UF’s 7-2 road record is equally impressive.
Kentucky, meanwhile, has struggled to punch up. It is 5-9 against RPI Top 50 teams, suggesting there’s a ceiling on their level. If Florida controls the glass—and the pace—Kentucky’s defense (allowing 73.4 PPG) will have a long afternoon.
Best Bet: Florida -5.5 ($0.58 per contract at Kalshi)
Kalshi has multiple point spreads available for Florida at Kentucky, so shop around until you find one you like.
Our analysis prefers the -5.5 contract at $0.58 per, which equates to -138 odds.
The narrative of “desperate home underdog” is tempting, especially on Senior Night, but the disparity in the paint is simply too wide to ignore. Florida has built its 10-game winning streak on sheer force. The Gators outrebounded UK 46-37 in their Round 1 win on Valentine’s Day — and that likely will show play out again today.
The Gators feature the SEC’s leading rebounder in Rueben Chinyelu (11.8 RPG) and the surging Alex Condon (7.7 RPG). This frontcourt duo is a nightmare for a Kentucky team that lacks comparable size. Even with Malachi Moreno (6.6 RPG) working hard inside, Florida generates second-chance points at a clip that breaks the will of opposing defenses.
Furthermore, Florida has been covering spreads by overwhelming opponents. They have won 19 of their last 21 games, and since their February 14 win over these very Wildcats, they haven’t looked back. Kentucky needs a heroic 25-point night from Oweh to keep this close, but reliance on one scorer is risky against Florida’s depth.
The trends point one way: Florida is 8-4 against elite competition, while Kentucky is under .400 in the same spot. Expect the Gators to spoil Senior Night and cover the number with late free throws and rebounding dominance.
