Last season, Wague played in 33 games for the Crimson Tide, making 8 starts. Wague averaged 3.1 points and 2.5 rebounds per outing during the 2023-24 campaign, helping Alabama reach its first Final Four in program history. He scored a season-high of 12 points against Arkansas State and was UA’s top rebounder on three occasions.

Wague arrived in Tuscaloosa after playing a season at West Virginia. As a Mountaineer, Wague contributed in 28 games before an injury sidelined him for the rest of the 2022-23 season. He averaged 4.1 points and 3.1 rebounds per game that season, including a double-double of 10 points and 10 boards against Kansas State and 11 points in 14 minutes against Pitt.

In 2021-22, Wague began his basketball at the JUCO level, playing for Harcum College. He averaged 14.8 points per game as an NJCAA All-American. Wague led the NJCAA with 417 rebounds, an average of 11.9 boards per game.

Familiar foes

We don’t have a schedule yet for the 2024-25 SEC basketball season, but it is confirmed that Alabama and Oklahoma will play.

The SEC will remain without divisions as the conference expands to 16 teams, welcoming Oklahoma and Texas in July. The schedule model for the 16-team league is that every team plays the other 15 schools at least once, with three home-and-home series.

Alabama and Oklahoma will play once in 2025. The game does not have a date yet, but it is set to be played in Tuscaloosa. UA’s home-and-home series are with Auburn, Mississippi State and Kentucky. OU will play Missouri, Texas and Texas A&M twice.

Wague will certainly look to make an impact for his new team in his old stomping grounds when the Tide and Sooners tangle next year.
