The Georgia Bulldogs football team is gearing up for another National Championship run in the College Football Playoff, and their counterparts on the hardwood are also off to a fantastic start to their season.
The Dawgs’ men’s basketball program picked up its eighth win of the season on Saturday afternoon with a dominant 84-65 win against the Cincinnati Bearcats in State Farm Arena down in Atlanta, Georgia.
The Dawgs were led in scoring by junior point guard Blue Cain, who racked up 22 points, 5 assists, and 5 rebounds while shooting 5/12 from the field and sinking 12 of his 14 free throws.
As a unit, Georgia shot 50% from the field while holding the Bearcats to 35%, and also managed to out-rebound their Big 12 foes 41 to 37 on the day, with sophomore big man Somto Cyril leading the way with 7 boards.
This dominant showing follows up the 107-73 beatdown they handed the Florida State Seminoles last Tuesday down in Tallahassee in the ACC/SEC Showdown, one of their biggest wins against a Power 4 opponent in program history.
Georgia will have 3 more tune-up games against smaller programs to close out 2025 before it dives headfirst into SEC play in the New Year by facing off against No. 21 Auburn.
