Gus Johnson experiences NSFW slip-up while calling Caitlin Clark block

Gus Johnson is one of the great broadcasters in college sports today. However, even Johnson is not immune from unfortunate slip-ups.

Saturday evening, Johnson was a part of FOX’s women’s college basketball broadcast between Iowa and Maryland. A main star of the event, Iowa’s Caitlin Clark was involved in the play that led to Johnson’s unfortunate call.

During one play, Brinae Alexander and Clark were battling down low. Clark initially contested an entry pass on defense and then recovered to block Alexander’s layup attempt.

It was on that block that Johnson let an expletive slip through in his call:

“Brinae Alexander had her shit blocked, her shot blocked, excuse me,” Johnson apologized quickly.

To be fair, it’s far from the worst thing to happen on a broadcast. The rest of Johnson’s work is traditionally top-notch as one of the great and energetic broadcasters in sports.
