We saw some spectacular individual performances during last night’s college basketball slate, but Mississippi State guard Josh Hubbard may have had the best outing of them all.

The junior guard was absolutely unconscious and dropped a career-high 46 points to lead his team over Auburn. Hubbard hit an insane 10 3-pointers and also hauled in 9 rebounds while dishing out 3 assists. In doing so, Hubbard scored exactly half of Mississippi State’s 91 points in a 5-point win for the Bulldogs. Not only that, Hubbard outscored Auburn by himself in the first half, 35-33.

Take a bow, Josh Hubbard:

Auburn out-rebounded and outshot Mississippi State at the free throw line. However, Mississippi State’s defense – despite giving up 85 points – was rock solid, especially late. The Tigers finished just 39% from the field and Mississippi State finished with 11 blocks as a team. While Auburn was dominant on the boards, Mississippi State was able to mitigate the Tigers’ effectiveness scoring at the rim.

To say Mississippi State needed that win would be a massive understatement. The Bulldogs are now winners of two straight for the first time dating back to the start of SEC play, sitting at 5-8 in league play on the season with 5 games to go.
