Star Texas Tech forward JT Toppin will miss the remainder of the 2025-26 season with a torn ACL, which he suffered during the Red Raiders’ loss to Arizona State Tuesday night.
Toppin tore his ACL in his right knee, right in the middle of a signature JT Toppin performance late in last night’s game. The New Mexico transfer finished last night’s game with 20 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists, 4 blocks and 2 steals. He was doing a little bit of everything, but Texas Tech fell 72-67 without his services down the stretch.
As you can probably tell, Toppin was a simply massive part of Texas Tech’s success this season. He’s the guy the Red Raiders turned to when they need a bucket, and superstar performances from Toppin have helped Texas Tech knock off the likes of Duke, Houston and Arizona this season – all of which have a chance to be a 1-seed when the regular season finishes up in just a few weeks.
Now, Grant McCasland’s squad is going to have to see even more from the supporting cast of LeJuan Watts, Christian Anderson and Donovan Atwell. As it currently stands, the Red Raiders hold tiny odds to win the Big 12 regular season title according to Kalshi.
