Kevin Harlan is one of the most popular play-by-play broadcasters in sports. He is a staple during the NFL season on CBS broadcasts, and he is also a key part of March Madness. He has had some legendary calls on stars like Patrick Mahomes, Jimmy Butler and Kobe Bryant, just to name a few.

He is great at reading a situation and delivering the perfect call, and that once again was the case during his game between North Carolina and Ole Miss in Friday’s NCAA Tournament action. There was a loose ball on the floor, and it was heading right toward the announcer’s table. The ball was close to hitting analyst Stan Van Gundy when Harlan deflected the ball at the last second.

Making it even more impressive is that he continued to call the game, including his own heroics of knocking the ball out of the way.

“Saves the ball with a leap, knocked out of bounds and deflected by me,” Harlan said on the call.

There is nothing more exciting in sports than the NCAA Tournament, as fans across the country go crazy for the start. No one knows what is going to happen during the NCAA Tournament, and that includes the announcers. Harlan has shown that when it comes to capitalizing on any given moment, there is no one better than himself.

Harlan will also be on the call for the Friday night matchups of Troy vs. Kentucky and Xavier vs. Illinois.
