Key LSU player available to return Tuesday against No. 16 Florida

LSU could be getting back a key player back for Tuesday night’s game at No. 16 Florida
Dedan Thomas Jr. has been sidelined by a lower-leg injury this month, last playing on Dec. 29. While Thomas’s final status has yet to be determined, the standout guard is available to play, per college basketball insider Jon Rothstein.

A transfer from UNLV, Thomas got off to a strong start at LSU. In his first 13 games as a Tiger, Thomas is averaging a career-high 16.2 points per game. His shooting percentage is also at a career-best, 49.3% from the field.
LSU is 13-5 on the year. The Tigers dropped their first 4 SEC games of the season, but snapped the losing streak with a 78-70 win over Missouri on Saturday.
Mizzou happens to be the only SEC team to defeat Florida so far this season. The Gators are tied for 1st in the conference with Texas A&M at 4-1 in SEC play. UF’s 4-game winning streak has seen Todd Golden‘s team defeat Georgia, Tennessee, Oklahoma and Vanderbilt.
Florida vs. LSU is set for a 7 p.m. ET tip-off in Gainesville. The game will air on ESPN2.
