Mick Cronin responds to fans upset with sideline antics from himself, Dan Hurley: ‘Get a life, bro’
Mick Cronin had a strong message for reporters and by extension fans on Saturday during his odd-day press conference in Philadelphia.
In no uncertain terms, he told everyone to back off the bluster about his sideline antics and that of his coaching counterpart on Sunday night, fiery UConn head coach Dan Hurley. Cronin will lead No. 7 seed UCLA against Hurley’s favored, second-seeded Huskies in a second-round East Region battle that will tip off at about 8:45 p.m. ET on TNT.
The stakes will be high in Philly between Cronin’s Bruins (24-11) and Hurley’s Huskies (30-5), with a trip to the Sweet 16 on the line, and the 2 outspoken, emotional head coaches who lead these pair of blue blood programs will likely be performing their usual sideline antics that have caught the ire from fans.
That’s where Cronin’s message came in on the eve of the matchup, because he wanted to let people know exactly where he stood on the matter.
“It’s ridiculous. Everybody needs to get a life, bro. Come on, man,” Cronin said. “You wanna win big, but you think Coach Hurley isn’t supposed to be intense? But you wanna win? Come on man.”
Naturally, Cronin wasn’t done yet with his rant on the subject.
“We’re not coaching Little League,” he said. “Everybody doesn’t get an at-bat. Come on, man. They’re paying us a lot of money to win games.”
With Cronin’s Bruins and Hurley’s Huskies battling it out on Sunday night for a spot in the Sweet 16, here is what the Kalshi market currently sees regarding the top teams in the mix to survive into next week:
