NBA.com’s final 2022 mock draft includes 5 SEC players going in Round 1

The 2022 NBA Draft is on Thursday night in Brooklyn, meaning analysts everywhere are trying to finalize their predictions.

On Thursday morning, NBA.com’s Sam Smith released his updated Round 1 projections, which included 5 SEC standouts.

As you can see below, he has Auburn’s Jabari Smith Jr. going No. 1 overall to the Orlando Magic, followed by 2 Kentucky Wildcats, an LSU star and a Tennessee Volunteer:

  • No. 1 — Jabari Smith Jr., F, Auburn — Orlando Magic
  • No. 9 — Shaedon Sharpe, G, Kentucky — San Antonio Spurs
  • No. 16 — Tari Eason, F, LSU — Atlanta Hawks
  • No. 19 — TyTy Washington, G, Kentucky — Minnesota Timberwolves
  • No. 27 — Kennedy Chandler, G, Tennessee — Miami Heat

The top 3 picks seem to be locked in. We’ll see if there are any major surprises when it comes to the rest of the first round.
