Oklahoma basketball continues hot streak, beats South Carolina in SEC Tournament

Senior guard Nijel Pack led the way for the Sooners with 24 points as Oklahoma stayed hot and knocked out South Carolina in the SEC Tournament.
Pack shot 50% from behind the 3-point line and knocked down 5 threes on the Sooners’ way to victory. Sophomore forward Derrion Reid also chipped in 20 points and 4 rebounds on 6-of-8 shooting from the field.
Senior guard Kobe Knox led the way for the Gamecocks with 20 points, 5 rebounds, and 5 assists. Senior guard Mike Sharavjamts scored an efficient 19 points on 10 shots and also hauled in 8 rebounds.
Both teams were fighting to keep their seasons alive. For the Sooners, they’re currently on the bubble for the NCAA Tournament and need a good showing in the SEC Tournament to seal their at-large bid. For the Gamecocks, winning the SEC Tournament was the only path to the big dance.
Over on Kalshi, here’s a look at the odds for several SEC bubble teams to make the NCAA Tournament:
At halftime, both teams were tied with 42 points. Oklahoma opened the half up on a 14-5 run to jump out to a 56-47 lead with just over 15 minutes left.
South Carolina was able to cut the lead to just 6, 64-58, with a little under 10 minutes left in the game, but Oklahoma didn’t let it get any closer. The Sooners went on a 12-2 run over the next 3 minutes and opened up their lead to 16 with 6 minutes to play.
An Eli Ellis layup with 40 seconds left sealed the game for the Sooners with an 86-74 win.
The Sooners will now look to keep their season alive as they take on Texas A&M at 9:30 p.m. EST on Thursday.
