The Oklahoma Sooners couldn’t miss from deep as they shot 68% from 3-point land on their way to a 91-79 victory over the Auburn Tigers Tuesday night.
Senior guard Nijel Pack led the way for the Sooners with 22 total points and 6 made 3-pointers. The Sooners had 4 starters in double figures. Mohamed Wague added 18 points, Derrion Reid finished with 16 points and a perfect 2-of-2 from 3-point land, and Xzayvier Brown also had 14 points.
Here’s a look at some highlights from Oklahoma’s win:
Keyshawn Hall and Kevin Overton led the way for the Tigers with 26 points each. No other Tiger scored in double figures, and the other 3 starters shot a combined 5-of-19 from the floor.
The Sooners led the majority of this game. The first half started back-and-forth, with both teams trading buckets. As the pair of teams neared the end of the first half, Oklahoma’s lead only continued to grow, and they headed into the locker room up nine, 51-42.
The second half was all Sooners, though. Their lead continued to grow, reaching 18 with just a little under 6:30 left in the game. Auburn’s Hall scored the last 8 points for the Tigers and got the final score to a respectable 12 points.
Auburn will host Ole Miss on Saturday, Feb. 28. Tipoff is scheduled for 8:30 p.m. EST. Oklahoma goes on the road to face a different Tigers team, the LSU Tigers. That game is also set for Saturday, Feb. 28, with a tipoff of 6 p.m. EST.
