Oklahoma dominates Texas A&M to stay hot in SEC Tournament, advance to quarterfinals

Oklahoma finished the 2025-26 regular season as one of the hottest teams in the SEC, and that momentum has carried over into the SEC Tournament. The Sooners dominated Texas A&M on Thursday night, picking up an 83-63 win to advance to the quarterfinals.
OU never trailed on Thursday night in Nashville. It was a 14-6 game at the under-16:00 timeout (15:06). At the under-4:00 timeout (3:23), Oklahoma had opened up a 38-18 lead.
It was a 22-point Sooner advantage at the half (49-27). Texas A&M started the second half strong, making it a 12-point game at the 15:25 mark (54-42). The Aggies, though, were unable to chip away further.
Nijel Pack led the way for Oklahoma with 20 points. He was particularly strong in the first half, scoring 15 points on 6-of-8 field goals, including 3-of-5 from 3-point range.
Derrion Reid was OU’s top rebounder with 10 boards. He made it a double-double with 15 points on 6-of-11 shooting from the field, adding 3 free throws. The Sooners dominated the glass, winning the rebounding battle over A&M 48-33.
Oklahoma shot 46% to Texas A&M’s 38%. The teams posted nearly identical numbers from 3-point range (8-of-31 and 8-of-30). OU had 8 more overall field goals and the Sooners were more productive in the paint (42-30).
With the win, No. 11 seed Oklahoma improves to 19-14 overall and advances to face No. 3 seed Arkansas in the quarterfinals on Friday. No. 6 seed Texas A&M leaves Nashville 21-11 overall and will learn its NCAA Tournament bracket on Selection Sunday.
