The Kentucky Wildcats are one of the biggest blue-blood programs in NCAA Tournament lore, and the 2025-26 Wildcats aren’t about to go quietly from this year’s March Madness
Seventh-seeded Kentucky faces 10th-seeded Santa Clara in a Midwest Region first round game Friday (12:15 pm ET, TNT) with urgency and focus knowing that any misstep in St. Louis could be the Wildcats’ last.
“Knowing every game could be the last one, want to go out there and have no regrets leave it all on the table – on the floor, I mean,” Kentucky guard Otega Oweh said during Thursday’s media availability. “We just want to go as far as we can. Prolong this run we are trying to go on and have fun in the moment as well, because this is the last time we are going to be able to do this.”
Kentucky was wobbling on the Big Dance bubble down the stretch of the regular season but rattled off victories against LSU and Missouri in the SEC Tournament to secure its spot.
“Like (Oweh) said, knowing it is our last run, trying to make the best of it,” Wildcats guard Denzel Aberdeen said. “Trying to go all of the way. Playing for our teammates, playing for our brothers, every single one of us knows our dream and goal, know what we want to do. We have to go on and strive for it.”
