SEC men’s basketball seemingly gets better every year, and this season, there are 5 teams ranked in the preseason AP Top 25.
SEC Network analysts Pat Bradley and Daymeon Fishback are in Birmingham, Alabama for SEC Tipoff to preview the men’s basketball season.
Fishback recalled that last season, teams like Alabama and Tennessee were capable, but they ran into injuries. Fishback said he thinks the Vols are in the mix once again.
“They’ve actually had the ingredients to win a national championship the last few years, I think they have the ingredients to do it again,” he said. “I think there’s probably 3 or 4 teams, but they have to be healthy and they have to be a cohesive unit.”
Bradley put it simply: “Tennessee, A&M, Arkansas. Kentuck has got the talent, can they put that together? Does Reeves have an incredible season scoring, shooting, creating things? Yeah, I think there’s multiple teams who can get there.”
Tennessee is ranked No. 9 in the AP poll, and was picked by the media to win the league. The Vols have key returners like Josiah-Jordan James and Santiago Vescovi.
