Purdue vs. UConn: Sportsbooks share betting insights into national championship game

Purdue and UConn face off Monday night in the NCAA Tournament championship game for the national title.
Ahead of Monday’s big game, DraftKings Sportsbook shared betting insights with Saturday Down South. The point spread has notably widened as bettors back the Huskies to cover.
Saturday night, Purdue opened as a 6-point underdog to UConn, the defending national champion. On the opening line, 85% of bets for 91% of the handle (money bet) was on UConn to cover the 6-point spread.
The line did not take long to move to 6.5 points. The Huskies continued to get 73/27 splits of the bets and 85/15 of the handle laying 6.5 points.

As of Sunday evening, the line is up to 7 points. Purdue +7 is priced at -115, meaning a $115 bet is needed to win $100. UConn -7 is priced at -105.
Even with the 7-point spread, bettors all over UConn.

As an underdog, Purdue is getting some moneyline love. The Boilermakers have 61% of the moneyline bets for 62% of the handle.
Purdue is priced at +240 to win straight up, meaning a $100 bet on the Boilermakers could turn into a $340 payout. To take the Huskies without the points, a bettor needs to wager $298 to win $100.

The over/under is currently set at 145.5 total points in the game. Both options are priced at -110. Bettors are expecting more points to be scored.

Can Zach Edey lead Purdue to an upset victory?
If Purdue is going to keep UConn from going back-to-back, it’s likely going to start with a standout performance from Boilermaker big man Zach Edey.
BetMGM shared with SDS that the two most-bet player props for the game involve Edey’s point total and rebound total. Bettors are expecting a double-double of at least 24 points and 13 rebounds.
