Rick Barnes and the Tennessee Volunteers are gearing up for a Sweet 16 matchup against the Iowa State Cyclones on Friday night. There has been a ton of talk over the past couple of seasons on whether or not the NCAA Tournament should expand.
Many people say it is literally perfect, and there doesn’t need to be changes. However, there are other people that think more teams can only make it better.

Barnes was asked about tournament expansion during Thursday interviews with the media. He said he wouldn’t have an issue with more play-in games, but he doesn’t want the tournament going longer than three weeks.
More play-in games, but… “I don’t think you can ask the national champion to play more than 3 weeks, with what’s at stake,” Barnes said. “We have a three week window where we capture this country. Every state can be involved.”
No other sport’s postseason can duplicate the excitement of the NCAA Tournament. It doesn’t matter how many years you have watched it, it is almost a guarantee you will see something you have never seen.
This year has been no different, as the first weekend ratings were as high as they have ever been. It feels like expansion is almost inevitable at this point, but fans no matter what are going to continue to tune in.
