Seth Greenberg says SEC basketball has ‘leapfrogged’ ACC

Seth Greenberg has watched plenty of ACC and SEC men’s basketball in recent years. The ESPN analyst breaks down national action during ESPN’s halftime shows and other college hoops-related programming.
Greenberg shared his thoughts with “The Paul Finebaum Show” on Monday and had some interesting comments about where the SEC stands in the national pecking order.
As you can see below, Greenberg said the SEC is above the ACC in basketball prominence these days:
"The SEC has leap frogged the ACC in basketball. Who would have thought that would even happen, but they have." @SethOnHoops

“The SEC has leapfrogged the ACC in basketball,” Greenberg said. “Who would have thought that would even happen? But they have.”
The SEC got 6 teams into the NCAA Tournament this year (and should have gotten a seventh in Texas A&M). The ACC got 4 in, but probably should have only gotten 3 with Notre Dame being left out. Meanwhile, the SEC is throwing big-time money at coaches to come to the league on both the men’s and women’s sides.
We’ll see how those teams perform in the NCAA Tournament, but Greenberg certainly has a point about the SEC these days. It’s not just a football conference!
