There are many things that are considered impossible in life.

Taking the crust off an Uncrustable? That might count as one of them.

Let’s set the scene first. Syracuse paid a visit to Virginia on Saturday afternoon. During pregame warmups, cameras caught Orange forward Donnie Freeman, the team’s leading scorer, eating an Uncrustable.

Some would dive right in and eat it as is. Not Freeman. The sophomore tore the outer edge of it off before eating it. Here’s the video from ESPN:

As you might imagine, social media had plenty to say about the matter.

Speaking of the word “impossible”, that could describe Syracuse’s chances at making the NCAA Tournament as it continues to digress under Adrian Autry in his third season.

The Orange ended up losing to Virginia 72-59, their sixth loss in their last seven, to fall to 13-11 overall and 4-7 in the ACC. Despite finishing with a game-high nine rebounds, Freeman played 33 minutes but scored just five points on 2-of-11 shooting.

The Orange haven’t made the Big Dance since going to the Sweet Sixteen in 2021 under Jim Boeheim. And this social media exchange tells you all you need to know about the state of the Syracuse basketball program right now:
