Tempers flare between Todd Golden, Ben McCollum in Florida-Iowa game
Tensions are high as Florida and Iowa battle for a spot in the Sweet 16.
The game got heated after Florida forward Alex Condon and Iowa forward Alvaro Folgueiras fought for a rebound. After both players ended up on the floor, Folgueiras appeared to throw a punch at Condon.
The skirmish was eventually broken up and both players were assessed technical fouls. Here’s a clip:
In the aftermath of that play, Florida coach Todd Golden and Iowa coach Ben McCollum exchanged words and had to be separated. Golden seemed to be particularly upset with how the incident played out.

During an interview on the broadcast, McCollum accused the Florida bench of being too “sensitive” about the play.
Florida trailed by 2 points at the half. The Gators are looking to clinch a spot in the Sweet 16 for the second consecutive season. Florida won the National Championship in 2025, which was Golden’s third year at the helm in Gainesville.
