Tennessee reportedly decides on injury designation for Nate Ament
Tennessee forward Nate Ament is questionable to play this week against South Carolina, according to a report.
That’s per college basketball insider Jeff Goodman, who notes that Ament re-sprained his ankle against Alabama over the weekend. Ament suffered the injury late in the first half against the Crimson Tide and played just 11 minutes in the game.
As Goodman noted, Ament previously sprained his ankle against Missouri earlier this season. He was questionable for the Alabama game but ended up starting for the Vols. He went just 1-for-5 from the field with 3 offensive rebounds in a 71-69 loss for Tennessee.
Ament has been one of the SEC’s best players this season, but the Vols may look to prioritize his health for the SEC Tournament and March Madness rather than risk further injury against the Gamecocks.
Tennessee is hoping to reach the Final Four for the first time in program history this season. Here’s the latest Final Four odds for top programs on Kalshi:
