A Texas Tech basketball fan enjoyed a moment to remember with Red Raiders legend Patrick Mahomes on Monday night.

During a stoppage in play, the fan sunk a 94-foot putt across the length of the basketball court as part of a mid-game contest. Mahomes was sitting courtside for this Big Monday matchup against No. 4 Houston.

Here’s a clip of the putt and the celebration:

Here’s another angle of the putt that shows just how far the ball had to travel across the hardwood:

It’s unclear what the fan’s official prize was for draining the putt, but the a celebratory moment with Mahomes is certainly something to remember regardless.

Unfortunately for the Red Raiders, this was maybe the high point of the evening. Texas Tech ended up losing 69-61 to the Cougars, falling to 21-8 on the season. The Red Raiders are still a top-ranked team, however, so perhaps they’ll get another crack at Houston during March Madness or the Big 12 Tournament.

Texas Tech will go on the road to face Kansas in Lawrence on Saturday afternoon. With Lawrence located less than an hour’s drive from where Mahomes lives in Kansas City, perhaps he’ll make the trip for a 2nd-straight Red Raiders game.
