Florida and Arkansas kept the officials busy on Saturday night, with plenty of fouls and reviews for appeals and challenges. Even the head coaches drew double technicals during an intense exchange.
At one point early in the second half, Todd Golden and John Calipari had a tense back-and-forth that resulted in the refs issuing a double technical during a notably chippy game.

Any drama, however, appeared nonexistent after the conclusion of Florida’s 111-77 win. Both coaches downplayed the double technical and were complimentary of their counterpart when speaking to the media.
“Who knows? We’re both competitors,” Calipari said of the double technicals, per Kevin Brockway of The Gainesville Sun. “He’s done a great job. I can tell you, he out-coached me today.”
Golden similarly declined to get into any details and spoke highly of Calipari.
“The tech, both of us were just coaching our team,” Golden said, per Brockway. “He’s obviously a Hall of Fame coach, an incredible coach and we’re just out there competing. I don’t think either of us thought twice about it after it happened, but it was a little bit part of the game tonight.”
While both coaches downplayed Saturday night’s drama, it will certainly be interesting if Florida and Arkansas cross paths in the SEC Tournament or NCAA Tournament.
