Todd Golden takes jab at Kentucky after Florida’s third win of the season vs. Wildcats
Todd Golden held court with the ESPN crew after his Florida machine won its 12th game in a row overall and first in Nashville this week at the SEC Tournament.
It was a Friday afternoon quarterfinal conquest over rival Kentucky, and it was the top-seeded Gators’ 3rd victory over the Wildcats this season alone. Those 3-0 sweeps of conference rivals aren’t easy to come by, so even though Golden admitted that Florida was “rusty” in its 71-63 victory, it didn’t mean he wasn’t going to compliment his team for a hard-earned win that pushed UF into Saturday’s semifinals against either No. 4 seed Vanderbilt or No. 5 seed Tennessee.
Golden got real during the postgame session with ESPN, and he brought a very unique fact to the table regarding Florida’s 3 victories over Kentucky this season.
“We did what we needed to do. I would have preferred to win this game by 20 (points), but we’ll take this 8-point win. And, you know, in the 3 games that we played these guys (this season), they haven’t led for one minute,” Golden said.
And with that cold truth, Golden had fired the ultimate salvo toward Kentucky, which will likely be in the NCAA Tournament along with Florida but can’t claim to have led the Gators even once this season during those 3 meetings.
With that season-long dominance over Kentucky secured, here is how the Kalshi market sees Florida’s chances to win 2 more games this week and capture the SEC Tournament title:
