Treysen Eaglestaff has made his decision for the 2024-25 season.

The North Dakota transfer has committed to South Carolina, according to multiple reports. Eaglestaff was considered to be one of the top-available transfers this cycle and chose the Gamecocks over programs like Kentucky, Kansas and Gonzaga.

Eaglestaff shot onto the high-major radar earlier this year when he dropped 40 points in a 97-90 loss to Alabama. He went on to have an excellent season for North Dakota before entering the transfer portal earlier this offseason.

Eaglestaff pointed to South Carolina’s offensive philosophy as a reason for his commitment to Lamont Paris and the Gamecocks.

“Coach said he wants me to get a bunch of threes up, and that’s one thing I’m trying to do,” Eaglestaff told TheBigSpur. “Just space the floor as best I can, try to make the play and shoot the ball. I think that’s the biggest thing when it comes to style of play at South Carolina. That’s one big thing Coach Paris emphasizes.”

Eaglestaff can certainly space the floor. He’s a career 37% 3-point shooter on more than 6 attempts per game on average. He averaged 18.9 points per game as a junior at North Dakota during the 2024-25 season. At 6-foot-6, Eaglestaff should have the size to translate to an SEC lineup.

South Carolina will be hoping to take a big step forward next season with Eaglestaff playing a significant role.
