DeVonta Smith has made himself quite at home during the College Football Playoff National Championship Game at Hard Rock Stadium in South Florida. The Alabama wide receiver put together a 1st half for the ages, making 12 catches for 215 yards and 3 touchdowns to help stake the Crimson Tide to a 35-17 halftime lead.

Smith had a chance to add to that total right away out of the locker room with the Tide getting the ball to start the 2nd half, but a dislocated finger forced him to exit the game for further treatment. But that shouldn’t take away from what was a massive opening 30 minutes from the senior, and there’s no doubt that he’ll be playing in the NFL this fall.

As far as where he’ll be playing? It’s not out of the question that he might be calling South Florida home. Hard Rock Stadium’s primary tenants, the Miami Dolphins, hold the 3rd pick in the 2021 NFL Draft despite a 10-6 record that saw them nearly make the playoffs. There’s a strong chance that the Dolphins could use the pick to draft Smith and reunite him with former Tide teammate Tua Tagovailoa.

Many Dolphins fans, along with local and national media members on Twitter, certainly relished the idea:
