College football has reached the midway point this season, and the AP midseason All-America team was recently announced.
Heisman contenders Baker Mayfield, Bryce Love, and Saquon Barkley highlighted the first team selections. Each player has had an incredible first half, and Barkley will aim to keep No. 2 Penn State in the hunt for the College Football Playoff. Alabama led the SEC in terms of selections and had two defensive backs on the first team list.
The SEC had four players selected as first team players with three on defense and one special teams player. Georgia LB Roquan Smith, Alabama CB Levi Wallace, Alabama S Minkah Fitzpatrick, and Florida P Johnny Townsend were the SEC’s first team selections.
