With seven weeks of the 2018 college football season complete, Sporting News decided to look at the best players in country worthy of being named to an All-American team if the season ended today.

The team is made up of 26 selections. On offense, a 12th “ATH” position is added to the typical starting 11. For special teams, a kicker, punter and returner were named. The team is close to being half SEC players, a remarkable reflection of the league’s talent. All in all, 11 players from the conference earned the midseason All-American designation.

Here are the SEC players selected:

  • Alabama QB Tua Tagovialoa
  • Alabama WR Jerry Jeudy
  • Alabama OL Jonah Williams
  • Georgia OL Andrew Thomas
  • Mississippi State DL Montez Sweat
  • Kentucky LB Josh Allen
  • LSU LB Devin White
  • Georgia DB Deandre Baker
  • LSU DB Greedy Williams
  • Alabama DB Deionte Thompson
  • Texas A&M P Braden Mann

Obviously the midseason list has no bearing on making the end of season All-American team, but these 11 players look to be in position for recognition come December.
