Alarming news out of Spokane, Washington involving two college football players.
A pair of Eastern Washington football players, Dehonta Hayes and Keith Moore, were shot in the early morning hours in Spokane’s central bar district, as reported by Will Campbell of The Spokesman-Review. Both men were hospitalized with serious injuries.
The good news is that a university spokesman told Campbell that both Hayes and Moore are expected to make a full recovery. Hayes is a redshirt senior defensive back listed at 5-11, 195 pounds. Moore, a redshirt junior defensive lineman, is listed at 6-4, 290 pounds.
As of Campbell’s Saturday evening article, police had not made any arrests and had not released any details of the circumstances around the shooting.
“University leadership, including athletic director Lynn Hickey, is working with head football coach Aaron Best to monitor the situation,” Eastern Washington spokesman Dave Meany wrote in a news release.
“Our first priority is to provide support and comfort to the students, their families, and their friends. Our thoughts are with them during this difficult time.”
