The injury bug was tough on two former Alabama wideouts Monday, costing them their NFL active roster spots.
The New York Giants waived Kevin Norwood after he suffered a hip injury in the team’s Sunday practice. In New York’s Friday night game, he had logged 33 snaps and made one reception for seven yards. The Giants released Norwood and TE Colin Thompson to sign WR Andrew Turzilli and LB Chris Casher.
The Houston Texans released DeAndrew White on Monday. White injured his groin in an Aug. 4 practice and had been sidelined since. He signed with the Texans in June after being released by the New England Patriots.
If Norwood and White clear waivers, they will revert to injured reserve.

#Texans release North Shore alum DeAndrew White. "Waived-injured" designation. Tough break for a good young talent.
