“They were No. 5 in 2012 and got beat 35-7.”
Coaches have reminded them. The media’s written and talked about it.
But if you’re a Georgia Bulldog, forget about the past and go play. This is different Georgia team entering Williams-Brice Stadium at 3:30 and it’s also a very different South Carolina team.
The Gamecocks are surrendering more than 550 yards per game and have struggled to move the ball consistently on offense. Georgia’s opener against Clemson on Aug. 30 was a tale of two halves. The Bulldogs could not stop the Tigers on offense during the first 30 minutes, but locked down after the break allowing just 15 yards of total offense.
Georgia put up 41 points on a more talented South Carolina defense last season. Yes, that game was in Athens but the ‘Dawgs have loads of talent at the skill positions and are more than capable of eclipsing the 20 point mark.
