2 SEC players finish in top 10 of Heisman Trophy voting

Oklahoma QB Baker Mayfield won the 2017 Heisman Trophy in an absolute landslide.

Stanford RB Bryce Love finished second and Louisville QB Lamar Jackson, last year’s Heisman winner, finished third.

Auburn RB Kerryon Johnson finished ninth overall with the most votes among SEC players, and Georgia LB Roquan Smith, the only defensive player in the top 10, finished No. 10.

Johnson, the SEC’s Offensive Player of the Year, led the conference in rushing with 1,320 yards and 17 TDs, while Smith recently won the Butkus Award, given annually to the nation’s top LB.
