2 SEC players have been named to the late-season watch list for the Oscar Robertson Trophy, given annually to the nation’s top player.

Alabama’s Brandon Miller and Kentucky’s Oscar Tshiebwe were both honored amongst the 15-player list.

Miller is the only freshman to appear on the list. He’s been Alabama’s most important offensive player this season as the Crimson Tide close in on their 1st No. 1 seed in program history.

Tshiebwe won this award a season ago and chose to return to Kentucky for another campaign in 2022-23. The Wildcats have had an up-and-down season, but Tshiebwe is averaging 16.5 points and 13.1 rebounds per game this season.

Other headliners on this list include Purdue’s Zach Edey, Gonzaga’s Drew Timme, Indiana’s Trayce Jackson-Davis and North Carolina’s Armando Bacot.

The U.S. Basketball Writer’s Association has voted on this award since the 1958-59 season. It’s the oldest National Player of the Year Award in the country.

The winner of the 2022-23 Oscar Robertson Player of the Year Award will be announced at the Final Four in Houston next month.
