Takeaways:
- Of the 26 players on the first-team All-SEC team, seven of them were five-star prospects: La’el Collins, Laremy Tunsil, Nick Chubb, Robert Nkemdiche, Jonathan Allen, Vernon Hargreaves and Landon Collins. Four of those seven played along the line of scrimmage and two were defensive backs. Nick Chubb was the only offensive skill position player to make the first team.
- Thirteen of the 26 were three-star players, including Defensive Player of the Year — and future first-round pick — Shane Ray.
- Five of the 26 were four-star players: Amari Cooper, Arie Kouandjio, Reese Dismukes, Reggie Ragland and Amarlo Herrera.
- Mississippi State offensive guard Ben Beckwith was the only player not to have been ranked by 247Sports.
