While it’s not necessarily a majestic feat to reach a bowl game in college football since a record 41 postseason games — making up nearly 2/3 of the FBS level’s 127 teams — will be played at the end of the 2015 season, they still signify icing on the cake after a grueling three-month grind.
The SEC’s bowl tie-ins won’t change this fall, but dates and game times will. The Independence Bowl is scheduled for the day after Christmas at 5:45 p.m. EST on ESPN, the first SEC bowl game during the holiday season. There’s a two-day break before the league’s back in action in the Texas Bowl on Dec. 29.
On Dec. 30, three out of four marquee games will feature SEC teams. New Year’s Eve is the big day, beginning with the Peach Bowl at noon followed by both College Football Playoff semifinal contests at 4 p.m. EST and 8.
The offseason is almost over, folks. Our preseason bowl projections will be here before you know it.
