The Gautier, Mississippi, native is rated as a three-star prospect and the state’s No. 14 overall prospect and the country’s No. 31 overall offensive guard, according to 247Sports’ Composite Rankings.

Gainer had been committed to Mississippi State since April 2016, but with a month until National Signing day, Gainer backs off his pledge.

Following Gainer’s decommitment, MSU has 21 commits, with four early enrollees, nine JUCO signees and eight commitments.
