The morning after its hated rival wins the national championship, Auburn took a gut punch in the recruiting world as well.
Prized 2017 QB prospect Lowell Narcisse has decided to open his recruitment back up, according to a report from 247 Sports’ Keith Niebuhr.
Here is reasoning for the decision:
“After praying and talking with my family, I’ve decided to de-commit from Auburn,” Narcisse wrote. “I think I rushed and made a premature decision. I still plan to communicate and nurture a relationship with them. But at this time I will open my recruitment back up. My main goal now is to continue to get my health better and be a leader and role model to my team.”
While there’s still plenty of time for him to change his mind again, that’s certainly not good news for Gus Malzahn and company.
It’s also yet another example of why we shouldn’t get too excited about a recruit until he puts his pen to the paper.
