
2022 NFL Draft: 10 SEC players selected during second round

The 2022 NFL Draft continues with Friday night’s Day 2 (Rounds 2 and 3). Following Thursday’s 12 SEC selections in Round 1, 10 more SEC players came off the board in Round 2.
Auburn CB Roger McCreary was the first SEC Day 2 pick, going to the Tennessee Titans. Kentucky’s Wan’Dale Robinson was the first SEC receiver selection of Day 2. Robinson went No. 43 to the New York Giants, who might be looking to replace Kadarius Toney.
The Washington front office really has a thing for Alabama defensive linemen. Phidarian Mathis, pick No. 47 overall, joins fellow former Crimson Tide defenders Jonathan Allen and Da’Ron Payne with the Commanders.
To the surprise of many, Round 2 concludes with fans still waiting to see where Georgia standout Nakobe Dean lands.

- No. 49 Alontae Taylor, CB, Tennessee (New Orleans Saints)
- No. 52 George Pickens, WR, Georgia (Pittsburgh Steelers)
- No. 56 Sam Williams, OLB, Ole Miss (Dallas Cowboys)
- No. 59 Ed Ingram, OG, LSU (Minnesota Vikings)
- No. 63 James Cook, RB, Georgia (Buffalo Bills)
