2023 5-star Florida cornerback reveals updated top 5 featuring 2 SEC teams
Lakeland (Fla.) Lake Gibson prospect Cormani McClain can go anywhere in the country he chooses. The 5-star corner announced a top 5 list of schools in his recruitment earlier this fall, but on Sunday he announced a slight change. Out was Florida State, in was BYU.
“The Ones That’s Showing The Most Love, ‘Shoutout,'” McClain tweeted alongside a graphic featuring the final five schools alive in his process.

Along with BYU, the 2023 prospect has Alabama, Ohio State, Florida, and Miami in his list of schools he’s still considering.
McClain is the top-rated cornerback in the 2023 class, according to the 247Sports Composite. He’s the fourth-rated player in the state of Florida and the No. 10 prospect overall in his class. He has unofficially visited Florida three times since mid-June and twice in the month of September. He visited Miami in mid-September as well.
The 6-foot-2 defensive back has told 247Sports he could make a decision by the end of his junior season.
According to his MaxPreps page, McClain had 29 tackles and 9 interceptions as a sophomore during the 2020-21 season. So far in seven games as a junior, he has 17 tackles and 5 interceptions.
