The 2023 NBA Draft is just around the corner. The annual event will be held on Thursday, June 22, in Brooklyn.
When the first round officially begins, several SEC players are expected to be in the mix. A couple of SEC prospects could end up going in the lottery, too.
This week, Gary Parrish of CBS Sports updated his Round 1 mock draft and, as you can see below, he included 6 SEC players in the first 30 picks:
- No. 3 — Brandon Miller, F, Alabama — San Antonio Spurs
- No. 9 — Anthony Black, G, Arkansas — Utah Jazz
- No. 15 — Cason Wallace, G, Kentucky — Atlanta Hawks
- No. 17 — Nick Smith Jr., G, Arkansas — Los Angeles Lakers
- No. 21 — GG Jackson, F, South Carolina — Brooklyn Nets
- No. 27 — Noah Clowney, F, Alabama — Charlotte Hornets
There are sure to be some surprises over the coming weeks as we prepare for the draft. Can any additional SEC standouts work their way into the first round? We’ll find out soon enough!
