The 2023 NFL Draft will be held in Kansas City from Thursday, April 27, to Saturday, April 29. When commissioner Roger Goodell steps to the podium, there’s a good chance the first name he’ll call will be a former SEC star.
Over at DraftKings, there are odds on who will be the No. 1 overall pick in the draft, and 13 SEC players are listed.
Obviously, only 4 have a real chance as things stand at this point of going with the first pick — Alabama QB Bryce Young, Kentucky QB Will Levis, Georgia DL Jalen Carter and Alabama edge rusher Will Anderson Jr.
Here’s a list of the odds for each of the 13 SEC stars to go No. 1 overall:
- Bryce Young, QB, Alabama: -135
- Will Levis, QB, Kentucky: +550
- Jalen Carter, DL, Georgia: +550
- Will Anderson Jr., Edge, Alabama: +750
- Anthony Richardson, QB, Florida: +10000
- Hendon Hooker, QB, Tennessee: +20000
- Jalin Hyatt, WR, Tennessee: +20000
- Kelee Ringo, CB, Georgia: +20000
- Kayshon Boutte, WR, LSU: +25000
- BJ Ojulari, Edge, LSU: +25000
- Eli Ricks, CB, Alabama: +25000
- Jahmyr Gibbs, RB, Alabama: +25000
- Nolan Smith, Edge, Georgia: +25000
With the NFL Combine and Pro Days still to come, it’ll be interesting to see which players shine and which struggle.
There’s also a possibility of a trade up to the No. 1 spot, currently held by the Chicago Bears. Anything can happen between now and April!
