All-American teams are a big part of the college football award season. The Consensus All-Americans for 2024 have now been announced.
Five All-American teams are used to determine Consensus and Unanimous All-American status recognized by the NCAA. Those teams are named by the Sporting News, AFCA, Associated Press, FWAA and Walter Camp. Players who make 3 of those teams are Consensus All-Americans. Any player who makes all 5 teams is a Unanimous All-American.
Heisman Trophy winner Travis Hunter is a Unanimous All-American, as well as runner-up Ashton Jeanty. Heisman finalist Cam Ward is the consensus All-American at quarterback. Hunter, a 2-way star, is recognized at the all-purpose position, which mixes with returners on some of the publications’ teams.
