On Tuesday night, Pro Football Focus ranked the NFL’s top-10 rookies through 12 weeks of the season.

Three former SEC standouts made the list, which was led by ex-Ohio State RB Ezekiel Elliott, now with the Dallas Cowboys.

The three former SEC stars on the list are:

  • Dak Prescott, QB, Dallas Cowboys (No. 2)
  • Chris Jones, DT, Kansas City Chiefs (No. 5)
  • Keanu Neal, S, Atlanta Falcons (No. 9)

Prescott’s accomplishments have been lauded across all sports media platforms. The rookie from Mississippi State has thrown for 2,835 yards and 18 touchdowns while leading the Dallas Cowboys to an NFL-best 10-1 record.

Jones, Prescott’s former Mississippi State teammate, has recorded 17 tackles for the Kansas City Chiefs and has also knocked down two passes at the line of scrimmage.

Neal, the hard-hitting former Florida Gator, has forced a whopping four fumbles already this season for the Atlanta Falcons. He’s also made 72 tackles and has defensed three passes.

With four weeks left in the NFL season, it’ll be interesting to see how the SEC players fare the rest of the way. Prescott seemingly has the best chance of usurping Elliott’s spot atop the list and snagging Rookie of the Year honors.
