3 SEC teams makes PFF’s list of most true freshman snaps in 2024

The SEC was right there with the B1G last year in terms of the best conference in college football, and that figures to be the case moving forward in 2025. One reason why the SEC should once again be loaded is the fact that there were a lot of teams that relied on a lot of young talent during the 2024 season.
Pro Football Focus came out with a list of teams that played the most true freshman during the season, and there were 3 SEC teams on that list.
Oklahoma had the most snaps taken by true freshman in the SEC with a total of 2,913 snaps. That was 2nd in all of college football, with only the Clemson Tigers having more at 3,494.
Auburn was right behind the Sooners, as the Tigers had 2,891, while Alabama had the 5th most with 2,305 snaps taken by freshman. The only other team on the list was Notre Dame, who made it all the way to the national title against Ohio State.
The Crimson Tide had 1 of the best freshman in all of the country with wide reciever Ryan Williams. The 17-year old burst onto the scene, finishing with 48 catches for 865 yards and 8 touchdowns.
